off the cell floor they lap water and blood of the dead

spring morning a chemical spill
summer afternoon a chemical spill
autumn evening a chemical spill
winter night a chemical spill
Nothing left to do but wait.
Until day
breaks.
even if we live we'll starve
peeled apple
no more waxy taste
man
a little girl on his lap
why
wife's milk
being tested
for pesticides
no concept of sin before columbus arrived
weather changes toxic cleanup
let's get together
overthrow the world
plant morning-glories & beets
noonday tractor cloud of herbicides
peaceman finally admits 'the west can go to hell'
store manager tells
me he's not sure what country
the apples came from
unable to comprehend the end
yet
waiting
for the bomb
fresh coffee--
into it, I
dump some edible oil
one twelfth of the world is white male
