marlene mountain
one-line haiku sequence
may 1981
rush hour
rush hour a woman in the median picking wildflowers
yard sale so much of
the past a quarter
spring rain the traffic gathers
and thins gathers again
fog obscures the mountain
that is home
long weekend part of the getting
done doing nothing
a day off hanging clothes
in the sun
monthly bills paid stopped by a
panhandler in spring rain . . .
fresh cement i pause
write nothing
isolation i work out with the moon
who i am
spring rain nothing
else in my journal
