a mistake

quite a few poets in north america/australia have never seen 5-7-5 as our tradition. although lots and lots of fine poems have been/are written in 5-7-5 syllables it's long been understood that this 'form' was a mistake in interpretation. much has been written over the years which explains this. on the other hand art--as well as science--has very often come from honest mistakes. quite significant art. many yea's for that. if america does have a tradition it is that of many many approaches. there are 'classics' in more than several forms/styles/shapes in our short history. we like that 'tradition' best of all
