one-line linked haiku two   april 16-23 1999

one plus one: 1

the deer now are no longer the deer they were way back then

in the back yard rusty vw i drove in another life

if there's a lull in the blooms the new trowel's red handle
in a pretty dress the little girl talks to the tree

as we chat his feet shift about the ants beneath in the late day sun
intertwined in my mind tangled bodies in kosovo in columbine

mom and pop no doubt i sure will be glad when crow can feed itself
can't quite make out grandpa's eighty year old longhand

no matter the band sounds way off the crowd cheering wildly no matter
noiseless the vacuum cleaner since spring began with a rake

we're in the wrong business such dough the media make from tragedy
where have all the movies gone more choice yet less yet
